Bring Me To Life

Being in the lifestyle we are, or at least having the way of thinking that we do, our brains tend to gravitate towards D/s situations and ideals.  We are all more open minded than mainstream society, and our minds tend to work a bit differently.  That's just a fact and the way we are.

Today for me is no different.  I went out to get some lunch and heard a song on the radio that I have heard a hundred times before.  I've always liked the song, but today, for whatever reason, I really listened to the words.  It was one of those light bulb moments for me.  AH HA!!!   So I went back to the office and looked up the lyrics.  They had such a deep meaning and came across just as I thought.  Well...to me at least and my my working the way it does.

The song is "Bring Me To Life" by Evanescence.  If you read the lyrics, it sounds just like a submissive.  She has found herself and realized who and what she is.  She now sees this and doesn't, or can't, be without it any longer.  It's as if she is crying out to her Dom or Master...."save me from the nothing I've become".    "Breathe into me and make me real.  Bring me to life."  "I've been living a lie, there's nothing inside."  It hit me like a ton of bricks.  So...of course I had to share it with you, my faithful followers and readers.  :)

Below is the video and the lyrics to the song.  I hope you'll take the time to listen and read them.  Maybe it will have the same meaning and affect on you.  Maybe you will see yourself in this song.  Maybe you already have.

Evanescence - Bring Me To Life

how can you see into my eyes like open doors
leading you down into my core
where I’ve become so numb
without a soul my spirit sleeping somewhere cold
until you find it there and lead it back home

(Wake me up)
Wake me up inside
(I can’t wake up)
Wake me up inside
(Save me)
call my name and save me from the dark
(Wake me up)
bid my blood to run
(I can’t wake up)
before I come undone
(Save me)
save me from the nothing I’ve become

now that I know what I’m without
you can't just leave me
breathe into me and make me real
bring me to life

(Wake me up)
Wake me up inside
(I can’t wake up)
Wake me up inside
(Save me)
call my name and save me from the dark
(Wake me up)
bid my blood to run
(I can’t wake up)
before I come undone
(Save me)
save me from the nothing I’ve become

Bring me to life
(I've been living a lie, there's nothing inside)
Bring me to life

frozen inside without your touch without your love darling only you are the life among the dead

all this time I can't believe I couldn't see
kept in the dark but you were there in front of me
I’ve been sleeping a thousand years it seems
got to open my eyes to everything
without a thought without a voice without a soul
don't let me die here
there must be something more
bring me to life

(Wake me up)
Wake me up inside
(I can’t wake up)
Wake me up inside
(Save me)
call my name and save me from the dark
(Wake me up)
bid my blood to run
(I can’t wake up)
before I come undone
(Save me)
save me from the nothing I’ve become

(Bring me to life)
I’ve been living a lie, there’s nothing inside
(Bring me to life)

Oh, THAT'S what the song is about. (Sly and somewhat sinister grin cracks across his face.) You are truly deviant.

DV, I am not sure that is what she meant in the song but sounds like a good expliantion to me.

I have always liked the song but now you have given it new meaning

Ok, for the record...I'm not at all saying this is what the song is truly about. I have no idea the true meaning of the song or what it is based upon. But we can twist it any way we want to, can't we?!?! LOL! If you think about it in terms of D/s, then it totally fits. Or at least it does for me. :) You can make the song have whatever meaning for you that you would like. This one screams at me as I described. That's all I'm saying.
