A friend of mine sent me this video, and it is just plain awesome. No...it's not porn and has nothing to do with porn. In fact, it has nothing to do with bdsm or D/s at all. It's part of the "Dove" campaign aimed at women and their inner beauty.
This video is a great representation of how we see ourselves harshly and all our flaws, while others see us totally different. It shows how we all need to see our own beauty and our own worth and not always down play our ourselves based on our own self-image. Be proud of who you are...it's the only you that you have. And to those that matter, they will see our beauty and help us see it in ourselves as well.
This is well worth watching and I hope you take the time to do so!

This is amazing. I saw it the other night. Incredible how hard women are on themselves. Hopefully this will wake some women up to their true beauty that others see in them.
ReplyDeleteI saw this earlier today and was definitely moved. It's a great reminder of what we see when we look in the mirror and how it compares to reality that others see. Thank you DV for posting the reminder :)

I know this brand well. I've worked with the product developers. It's a genuine approach to shift opinion. They run workshops, going into girl's schools to help address self-image issues at a younger age.
ReplyDeleteThis is a favourite video of mine which shows how we are manipulated into changing our perceptions of natural beauty:

this was awesome, I wonder how much the drawing s would change again if a lover was describing them?
ReplyDeleteWow... this really made me stop and think. Thank you! It was beautiful! I bet if a lover were describing them, they would get to see themselves in a way they had never thought of before, in such a perfect and beautiful way :)
ReplyDeletewow- this actually made me cry.
ReplyDeletebecause i know if i was to do this, the image i described of myself would be quite ugly, and i'm not sure others see me as ugly as i see myself...
but it's hard to see yourself through others eyes.
thanx for sharing.
wow. tearing up here.
ReplyDeleteWow. That is something. That...um...is so true. I know I put myself down all the time...self-depricateing humor I call it. But I never give myself credit for being beautiful, in any way, shape or form. I struggle with that. It so difficult. This was....something. Thank you for sharing and making a difference in my night.

Great post...

Saw this a few days ago...really powerful stuff. It is amazing how I can look at someone, and see their beauty no matter what, but I cannot look in the mirror and see anything beautiful about myself.
ReplyDeleteWow. Thank you for posting this. It definitely speaks to me and I am sure so many others.
ReplyDeleteWow!! I wish I could have been one of the women in this video. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Fallen Angel. I can always find the beauty in others but rarely see it in myself.
I am starting to see the beauty in myself through years of self hatred and thats through the help of my master... great Blog, great post : )
